The Irish Elvis
Presley Fan Club had already being fund raising for
St. John of God, Menni Services having hosted
several Elvis shows in The Hilton Hotel, Charlemont
Place, Dublin. A good working relationship existed
between Mr. Kevin Whelan the then Director of St
John of God, Menni Services and Mr. George Twamley
and Mr. Chris Sandford of The Irish Elvis Presley
Fan Club, and it was through this that the idea was
born to hold the very first Elvis Presley Charity
